Hettie Judah – Book Launch: How to Enter the Art World… After
Thursday 30 April, 6.30pm

Amici Studio is pleased to host a book launch and live event with Hettie Judah to mark the publication of her forthcoming book How to Enter the Art World… After.

Taking the book as its starting point, the evening will explore the many non-linear paths into artistic practice — after a late start, a first career, periods of care, illness, interruption or change. Drawing on years of conversations with artists and arts professionals, Judah’s work challenges the idea of a single, prescribed route through the art world, opening up space for alternative trajectories and lived experiences.

The event will begin with a series of short, image-led presentations from invited artists, offering snapshots of current work and the conditions in which it is being made. These will be followed by a collectively structured Q&A, using a format developed by Ghislaine Leung, designed to create a more open and participatory conversation. Together, the evening will move between individual practices and shared discussion, reflecting on how artists navigate entry, re-entry and continuity within the art world.

The evening will conclude with informal drinks, conversation, and an opportunity to purchase signed copies of the book.

Running time approx. 1.5 hours.
