Selective Hearing: Rites & Rituals
Amici Studio
7pm-10pm,
Tickets £8 or £6 concessions.
An evening of communal listening and sonic meditation - showcasing sounds from early radio to new works by sound artists and audio makers pushing the boundaries of sonic storytelling. We delve into the XMTR archive and beyond to present a collection of audio around the theme of Rites and Rituals to celebrate the summer solstice - curated and hosted by sound artist and musician Isobel Anderson and XMTR curator and audio producer Lucia Scazzocchio.
The evening will begin with a guided listening meditation, gently opening our ears to the sounds of the shared space and grounding us in the works selected from the XMTR collection. Following the listening session, we'll gather for a curiosity-led discussion to reflect on the pieces we've experienced together and explore the thoughts, feelings and questions they evoke.
